Era un uomo di taglia normale, non arrivava al metro e 80. Ma aveva due razzi nelle gambe, correva e saltava come un puma. Da ragazzo alternava basket e calcio, come altri personaggi dello sport rosetano, ed era molto forte anche a pallone. Negli anni \u201850, Maggetti formava una formidabile coppia di guardie insieme al compare Emidio Testoni, quest\u2019ultimo tuttora nello staff della Pallacanestro Roseto. La squadra, raccontano, giocava quasi esclusivamente contropiede, e Remo con la sua esplosivit\u00e0 ne era interprete sopraffino. Poi, nel 1960, il piccolo grande uomo and\u00f2 a vincere trofei in serie all\u2019Ignis Varese. Due scudetti, una Coppa Intercontinentale, una Saporta Cup. E pure due presenze in Nazionale. Di lui mi piace ricordare una celebre impresa balistica al \u201cPabellon\u201d, il leggendario palasport di Madrid. L\u2019anno doveva essere il \u201965, Remo segn\u00f2 32 punti e l\u2019Ignis trionf\u00f2. L\u2019indomani la Gazzetta dello Sport titol\u00f2: \u201cMaggetti \u2018mata\u2019 il Real\u201d.
